Hey everyone! I'm totally sorry this update is coming at you soo late! I've had a ton of stuff going on recently and it's been hogging up a lot of my time. But, fear not, ye' of little faith! For, here comes this installment of the Galactic Update! As many of you are well aware, Decipher made some pretty hefty announcements last month at GenCon. The first announcement with the new acquisition of the Lord Of The Rings license. This means there'll be a new collectible card game based on Lord O' Rings soon. I expect that game to release about the time the movie hits the theaters. Another announcement was that Decipher has acquired the rights to produce a Star Trek role playing game and miniatures game. I'm kind of excited about this as I'm looking for a cool new mini's game to get into. I haven't hear much about what's happening with this, but, I'm sure to get some kind of info from DecipherCon. Finally, Decipher announced a new Star Wars based card game called Jedi Knights. This new card games will follow the classic trilogy and offer up innovative computer generated graphics (scenes never before scene from the Star Wars movies!). The game play is stated to be somewhere around the Magic: The Gathering experience lever. It less complex that Star Wars CCG and more indepth than Young Jedi CCG. This 180-card trading card game is expected to release sometime around October or Novermber. You can check out my new website devoted to Jedi Knights at: http://cmikehardy.tripod.com/jediknightstcg.htm DC2K- Many of you are getting pretty excited about the upcoming festivities at this years DecipherCon 2000 (DC2K). Weather permitting, of course. It will start around 2:00pm and it's located at the Shore Park Appartments located on 8018 Pocket Rd. Just show up to my apartment (#339). We'll be hangin' by the pool eating hot dogs and H-burgers with some brewskis and all the other stuff that makes BBQ's cool! By the way, although this is a Pre-DecipherCon BBQ, it's gonna be non-Star Wars, so, it's safe to bring the wife, kids, parents or girlfriends, or what have you... I'll send out more info on this later this week and next week! >> Star Wars CCG- > Jabba's Palace Sealed Deck (JPOTSD)- Just when you though your Elom hoards were safe... I and Josh Certo have decided to postpone this league until December. >> Young Jedi CCG- > Many of you are probably wondering what the heck happened to all of the cool Young Jedi action that we were supposed to get this year. Well, because of moving and job relocation problems that happened to our Young Jedi gurus there hasn't been the time or ability to post solid dates for Young Jedi events. However, I have just recieved a message from Janice Nichols in Modesto that she will be running Young Jedi events regularly on the second Sunday of each month starting on October 8th! Welcome back Janice! Also, I expect Abby Goldthwaite, the Sacramento Young Jedi Master, to be fully moved in and ready for action in October as well. I will personally keep you updated as to the Young Jedi stuff happening here in Sacramento! Well, that's it for now. Hope to see you this weekend in Modesto and Pleasanton!
