Death Star II Spoiler Page

Here is some of the information we've gathered about the upcoming Death Star II expansion.  Once again, I can't guarantee the validity of this information.  It could change as time goes by.
 

This choice morsel comes to you care of Scrye, Statman and Blair Beveridge:

1.  The Emperor is immune to attrition and deploys only to the Throne Room until you get the "Emperor's Power" (the Emperor's Shuttle) or a Royal Guard out. Then he can deploy to a battleground.

2. The Emperor's Power is immune to attrition and adds a destiny with the Emperor aboard.

3. Luke (Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight) and Vader (Lord Vader) have the biggest numbers in the game.  When armed with their sabers (both of which are in the set) they get increased defense value and immunity.

4. Both Luke and Vader have Objectives based around them confronting each other in the Throne Room.

5. New Executor, new ISD's, one new VSD.

6. New characters in DS2 for the Dark Side: Commander Merrejk and Admiral Chiraneau.
Commander Merrejk lets you search for systems.  Admiral Chiraneau enhances drains where you have a Star Destroyer.

7. Admiral Piett lowers deploy costs of capitals and searches for an Admiral's Order.

8. TIE Interceptors are designed to combat X-Wings.

9. Baron Soontir Fel, Wedge' nemesis from the Rogue Squadron books, is in the set.

10. DS starting interrupt (Operational as Planned): start the game with Moff JerJerodd, Death Star II system, and an effect of your choice in your hand.

11. Completing the Death Star causes an Occupation like effect, plus a battle bonus.

12. New TIE Squadron: Scythe Squadron TIEs.

13. The Mon Cals are different in DS2. Several squadrons of unique starfighters.

14. Effect for both sides: show pilot or unique starfighter from hand to download the other one.

15. Hobbie gets his own X-Wing. Wedge does too.

16. Five admiral's orders for each side. They either : enhance unique starfighters, reward decks that combine capitals with starfighters, give a bonus at sites related to systems that you control, and look really cool.

17. Another new starting interrupt for each side that deploys three defensive effects. The Dark Side one deploys Battle Order, Imperial Arrest Order, and a new one (Combat Response).

18. "Fixer" cards: You Cannot Hide Forever, and Honor of the Jedi.

Lore:  Being stationed at Endor during the construction of the second Death Star allowed Imperial pilots time to train in the latest dog fighting techniques.
Text:  Deploy on table. Once during each of your deploy phases, may reveal an unpiloted starfighter from hand to take one matching pilot character from Reserve Deck (or vice versa) and deploy both simultaneously.  Reshuffle. (Immune to Alter)

Admiral Ackbar

Destiny: 1
Power: 3     Ability: 4    Pilot
Deploy: 4    Forfiet: 7
Lore: Mon Calamari leader of Rebel fleet. Maste military strategist. Early prisoner of Grand Moff Tarkin. Convinced his people to join Alliance despite their suspicion of humans.
Text:  Deploys -2 to Home One.  Adds 3 to power of any capital starship he pilots. Your capital starships deploy -1 to same system. Once per game, may take one Mon Calamari character or Admiral's Order into hand from Reserve Deck.  Reshuffle.

A Note on the Pre-constructed Decks
As you already know, the pre-construced decks in Death Star 2 will have utility cards found in other sets.  They made it this way to make them competitive and balanced.  Among these cards you'll see are the ever present Monnock, Grimtaash, Houjix and Ghhhk.  Even A Few Maneuvers!
I think Monnock/ Grimtaash and Houjix/ Ghhhk are excellent utility cards!  Take a look at my article on building the winning deck, and you'll see why.

The Battle Of Endor, A new tournament format
Some of you already know that when Death Star II is released, there will also be a new "Closed" Tournament Format made available to players.  There hasn't been a name out on this new format (I'm simply calling it the Battle Of Endor), but, it's sure to be lots of fun.
Similar in many respects to the Bespin & Beyond tournament series, The Battle Of Endor will include only those cards found in the Endor and Death Star II expansions, plus cards found in the Death Star II Pre-consturcted decks.  The difference with The Battle Of Endor is that the battle will be at Endor, there's no where to run!
This new tournament format is sure to be highly interactive and very exciting to play.  You won't have to worry about numbers, retrieval, training, hunt down, hidden base, anything like that.  None of that cheese is there in the new format.
Also, swarms will be a thing of the past.  Without Sense, Monnock and Grimtaash are going to be especially powerful cards!  Be very careful when you construct your deck, because Well Guarded and Yarna d'al' Garnan won't be available.  Having two many of a card will be very dangerous.
Diversify or Die!  Battle Plan and Battle Order are also going to be the rage...  This will make Endor and a few other battle ground systems highly contested locations!
Stock up on your Endor now...  It's sold out in many stores and it'll be a very important peice of the Battle Of Endor puzzle.

Lore:  Command Ship of the Rebel fleet.  1200 meters long.  Masterpiece of asthetic form.  Most heavily armed and armored ship in the fleet.  Admiral Ackbar's personal flagship.
Text:  May add unlimited pilots, passengers, vehicles, and starfighters. Ship-docking Capability.  Permanent pilots provide ability of 4.  Immune to attrition < 8 (< 10 if Ackbar piloting).

Deploy on table.  Opponent's Dark Jedi are defense value -1.  Scanning Crew and 3,720 to 1 are cancelled.  You may place effect in lost pile to take one Endor or Death Star 2 effect that deploys from free from reserve deck and take into hand.

A Note On Admiral's Orders
     The guys at Decipher also mentioned that the new card type, Admiral's Orders have a new styling that has a larger picture.  This is because really awesome pictures will be used for these cards and they wanted to enhance their appearance.

Colonel Salm

Lore:  Leader of Gray Squadron. Prefers to fly venerable Koensayr starfighters instead of newer models because
"they've always gotten me home in one piece."

redraw your battle destiny just drawn. While he occupies the Renegade system, Imperial Control is flipped
and Imperial Occupation may not be flipped.

Tala 1

Lore:  Heavily modified Headhunter. Operationally assigned to support Madine's commando team. Hyperdrive
added to allow it to operate independently of capital starship support.
Text:  May add 1 pilot. May be carried like a vehicle. Power and maneuver +2 at opponent's system (except
battlegrounds) or at any sector. Immune to attrition < 4 when Colonel Cracken piloting.

Close Air Support

Lore:  Attack plans for General Madine's commandos often require coordinated air support. A number of Z-95
headhunters have been modified to operate in this role.

Lore: Imperial council member.  Senior political advisor to Emperor Palpatine.  Never speaks.  Like his master, shows remarkable patience and wisdom.
Text: Deploys -3 to Emperor's site.  When with Emperor, adds one battle destiny.  Once per turn, you may use one Force to peek at top card of opponent's Reserve Deck; may place that card on bottom of that Reserve Deck.  Immune to attrition <4.

Janus Greejatus
Dark Side Character: Imperial
Destiny: 2
Power: 2     Ability: 4
Deploy: 4     Forfiet: 5
Lore: Imperial council member.  Very cruel at heart.  Has lusted for power his entire life.  Predictable and controllable.
Text: Deploys -3 to Emperor's site.  When with Emperor at a battle ground site, adds 1 to your Force drains here.  Once per turn, you may use 1 Force to place a card from hand on botton of Used Pile and draw top card of Reserve Deck.  Immune to attrition <3.

Lore: Self-taught marksman and scout from a rural region on Chandrilla.  Inspired by Mon Mothma to join the Alliance.  Newly recruited into Medine's Commandos as field technician.
Text: Adds 1 to each of his character weapon destiny draws (2 when firing a rifle and all your ability here is provided by scouts).  While on Endor, adds 1 to Force drains at your exterior Endor sites where you have a scout of ability >2 (and no Ewoks).

Major Panno
Light Side Character: Rebel
Destiny: 2
Power: 2     Ability: 2     Warrior
Deploy: 2     Forfiet: 4
Lore: Male Dresselian scout.  Former commando.  Tactician.  Works with General Madine to plan logistics of strike operations.
Text: While at a system or an exterior battleground site, allows you to activate up to 2 additional Force for each related exterior  battleground site you occupy with a scout (limit 4 additional Force).
